Job Tittle : Senior PostgreSQL Support Engineer (Remote)
Location : Pune, Maharashtra, India
Description :
As a Senior PostgreSQL Support Engineer at EDB, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing client’s Postgres databases, working closely with in-house DBA team to provide guidance, execution, and best practices. You will work with a variety of OS platforms, Postgres versions, and HA solutions, and will be responsible for developing solutions for monitoring, resolving, and taking proactive actions to prevent outages.
Responsibilities
- Understand operational requirements and architect, configure, integrate, and maintain mission-critical Production PostgreSQL databases.
- Manage all backup, recovery, and PITR replicating tasks.
- Possess experience with community-supported tools like Pgbadger, Slony, PGadmin, Pgpool, and Pgbouncer.
Handle clusters and upgrades/migrations of various PostgreSQL database versions. - Perform database administration and tuning.
- Develop database automation scripts and maintenance plans.
- Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development, and planning of new production systems/databases.
- Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures, and standard
Qualifications
- 6+ years of strong experience as a DBA with a minimum of 3 years of PostgreSQL DBA experience.
- 2+ years of experience working with cloud/virtualization technologies.
- Proven ability to monitor, manage, and maintain mission-critical 24/7 production databasesHands-on experience with shell scripting and SQL query tuning.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with EnterpriseDB products and Certifications. OCP certifications are preferred.

- Graduate degree in B.E/B.Tech or equivalent.
