Responsibilities 📋
As a Buyer in Order Management team, you will have the vital role of procuring goods or services from designated sources of supply to fulfill the requirements generated by BP operations. This role involves managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely creation of Purchase Orders (POs) from approved requisitions, and overseeing various associated activities related to PO acceptance, tracking, changes, and closures. Your key responsibilities will include:
- 📦 Inspecting incoming requisitions for correctness and completeness and redistributing or referring them when appropriate.
- 🎯 Assigning sources of supply in accordance with category guidance or other relevant sourcing instructions.
- 📜 Issuing Requests for Quote (RFQ) as needed to obtain pricing, delivery, and other commercial terms.
- 🤝 Engaging with BP stakeholders, such as requestors and sourcing specialists, to finalize the purchase decision.
- 📝 Generating Purchase Orders and confirming acceptance by the supplier.
- 🚀 Resolving operational issues with suppliers, sourcing specialists, and requestors related to the quality, delivery, or receipt of goods/services, invoice payment, return of materials, etc.
- 🔄 Managing required changes to POs and facilitating the closure of POs.
Essential Education & Experience 📚🎓
- 🎓 Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- ⏳ Minimum 2-3 years of experience in order management and buying.
- 💼 Strong knowledge of procurement practices with an understanding of accounts payable practices.
- 💻 Proficiency in PSCM applications, including ARIBA, SAP, and Salesforce.
- 🌍 Experience working cross-culturally and in an international environment.
- 🤝 Engaging and collaborative way of working.
- 💪 Resilient and experienced in working in a multi-faceted environment.
- 📊 Experience in using ERP systems and excellent skills in Excel.
