Position Overview:
Avalara is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic candidate to become a part Vendor Risk Management team as a Analyst. This position is well-suited for individuals aspiring to begin a career in risk analysis and play a significant role in evaluating third-party vendors, both current and prospective. As a vital member of Avalara’s Organizational Risk, Resilience, Compliance & Audit (ORRCA) team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing compliance risks throughout the organization.
Job Title: Vendor Risk Management Analyst
Location: Pune, India
Responsibilities:
- Analyze due diligence results and conduct periodic monitoring.
- Apply project management principles to vendor risk assessments.
- Assess the completeness of vendor data and assist in documentation.
- Participate in risk assessments of existing vendors.
- Gather due diligence information from vendors for assessments and prepare documentation and risk summary reports.
- Assist in performing new and recurring risk assessments, mitigation plans, and coordination with internal stakeholders for remediation.
- Implement processes to monitor vendor portfolios using a risk-based approach.
- Collaborate with business units to develop and implement controls to mitigate risks.
- Administer issue monitoring, exception tracking, and remediation actions.
- Enhance vendor processes and controls in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Track and report on risk assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Identify critical vendors.
- Assist in the setup of the vendor risk management system.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year(s) of experience in vendor management or a similar role.
- Experience in assisting with risk assessments of vendors and third parties is advantageous.
- Familiarity with SOC reports, penetration testing results, or security control attestations is a plus.
- Basic understanding of identifying and reporting cybersecurity risk findings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to assess potential risks, evaluate impact, and make decisions.
