Key Responsibilities for the Job :
Strategy:
- Provide valuable inputs to shape the strategic direction of Retail Risk Operations.
- Collaborate with in-country stakeholders to execute the strategic initiatives of Retail Risk Operations.
Business:
- Optimize operational efficiency while maintaining the effectiveness of file processing within the Retail Risk Operations function.
- Develop cost budgets for Credit Initiation based on robust capacity plans and adhere to rigorous cost management discipline.
Processes:
- Ensure the processing of credit files in line with the process standards established by CCO (Chief Credit Officer), Retail Clients.
- Lead efforts to standardize, automate, and consolidate through process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize and enhance credit assessment infrastructure capabilities to optimize process efficiency.
- Promptly address and escalate risk and control weaknesses when identified, adhering to relevant committee procedures.
- Implement the Operational Risk Framework in Retail Risk Operations and monitor operational risk metrics to identify potential control weaknesses.
- Identify and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support strategy testing and daily operations.
People & Talent:
- Lead by example and foster the appropriate culture and values within the team.
- Set expectations and work collaboratively with risk and control partners.
- Ensure continuous training and development of team members and that critical function holders possess the necessary skills and qualifications, with effective supervision in place to mitigate risks.
- Attract, engage, and retain high-quality talent, with succession planning for critical roles.
- Review team structure and capacity plans.
- Monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports, providing feedback and rewards in alignment with their performance against responsibilities and objectives.
Risk Management:
- Identify and share industry best practices and collaborate with businesses for their feasibility and implementation.
- Monitor application quality and provide timely input to in-country stakeholders to optimize the risk and reward relationship.
- Ensure all Credit Initiation policies and procedures align with Group Policies and Standards and maintain proper and updated documentation for in-country policies and procedures.
Governance:
- Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and adhere to compliance practices defined by internal and external requirements.
- Promote the Group’s values and code of conduct within Credit Initiation to instill adherence to ethical standards and compliance with relevant policies, processes, and regulations among employees.
- Be accountable for the satisfactory closure of issues/gaps identified in Internal Audits, peer reviews, and regulatory reviews.

Ideal Candidate:
- MBA/CA qualified with a minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience.
