Job Description :
The Reporting Accountant Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely reporting for group, management, and statutory purposes. This position entails a profound responsibility for compliance with external financial reporting requirements, encompassing IFRS, local statutory laws, and regulations.
What Will Be Your Responsibilities?
- Offer strategic insights and viable options concerning future business development while maintaining stringent financial controls on a daily basis.
- Satisfy reporting requirements and other tax and compliance obligations, overseeing both External and Internal Audits.
- Exhibit a clear comprehension of IFRS and local GAAP and use this knowledge to make informed decisions based on concrete data, prudent analysis, and sound judgment.
- Construct forecasts and annual budgets for internal and group submissions. Additionally, upload forecasts and budgets in GCV and HFM. Handle Quarterly VAT filings and other tax compliance matters such as CIT. Conduct monthly Cash forecasting and collaborate with treasury. Undertake an annual review of transfer prices and Adhoc TP calculations, among other responsibilities.
- Conduct monthly reviews of internal controls and devise strategies to rectify deficient controls.
- Provide support to the Finance Controller, including journal approvals, payment approvals, and other financial reviews. Engage in Monthly Balance Sheet Reviews and HFM Reporting, manage balance sheet reconciliations, exercise control and scrutiny over financial systems, procedures, and reports. Innovate new processes and enhance existing ones.
- Offer financial counsel on ad hoc projects, drawing attention to relevant issues and contributing to corrective action where necessary.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, Division Heads, Group Finance, Internal and External auditors, Tax authorities, and other support departments.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- Education: Qualified CA / CMA (ACA / ACCA / CPA / CA / CMA or equivalent) and proficiency in IFRS is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, either in a global accounting practice or in the industry.
- Experience working in a large or listed entity.
- Proficiency in working with SOX control frameworks.
- Experience in transitioning and transforming into an offshore Captive or BPO Transactional Finance operation.
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
